They were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Coleville Wolves. The result was nothing new for the Leopards, who have now won six games by 13 runs or more so far this season.
Andreina Mercado was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Adriana Aguilar was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Leopards
Previous Games (Home)
04/19/25 vs Coleville 16-1
04/19/25 vs Coleville 20-0
04/07/25 vs Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage 1-0
04/07/25 vs Sierra Sage Academy/Right Of Passage 1-0
04/30/24 vs Mineral County 7-0
Wells pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Coleville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Wells will face off against Carlin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Leopards will need to watch out since the Railroaders have now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests. As for Coleville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Smith Valley at 3:00 p.m. on the 29th.

Baseball Game Preview: Wells Leopards vs. Carlin Railroaders
By Team Reports
Apr 19, 2025, 10:36pm
Wells has gone a perfect 10-0 against Carlin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Leopards will venture away from home to face off against the Railroaders at 2:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wells has ten straight wins, Carlin has 34 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Wells came out on top against Coleville on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive 14-run first inning. The Leopards were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Wolves. The Leopards might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Miguel Martinez
Stolen Base (Career)
04/19/25 vs Coleville 3
04/19/25 vs Coleville 1
04/12/25 vs Excel Christian 1
04/05/25 @ Virginia City 1
03/29/25 @ Mineral County 1
Wells let Miguel Martinez and Cesar Beruman run wild. Martinez went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs, while Beruman went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gage Uhlig, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and two runs.
Meanwhile, Carlin fell victim to Smith Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 24-0.
Wells' victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Carlin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-15.
Wells came out on top in a nail-biter against Carlin in their previous matchup on Tuesday, sneaking past 8-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Leopards since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.

Wells had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Virginia City Muckers as they made off with a 20-3 win. Considering the Leopards have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Cesar Beruman made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Tristen Zimmerman was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Gage Uhlig was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Wells always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .585. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Virginia City only posted an OBP of .364.
